The George F. Smith Library of the Health Sciences serves the academic, research, and clinical activities on the Newark Campus, and is New Jersey's major academic library devoted exclusively to the health sciences. The Smith Library fills a critical support role in learning and the creation and dissemination of new scholarly resources. The library strives to be an active catalyst for scholarly communication and knowledge management.
Medical history resources are located within Special Collections in the History of Medicine at the Smith Library on the Newark Campus, but serves the entire University and the state of New Jersey. Service is also provided to researchers throughout the state and elsewhere, both nationally and internationally.
The Robert Wood Johnson Library of the Health Sciences, located on the first floor of the RWJMS-Medical Education Building, serves the academic, clinical, and research needs of the schools on the New Brunswick/Piscataway Campus. In addition walk-in service is provided to staff and community physicians from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
The Virtual Library for Distance Learning supports students in the school's distance programs as well as Rutgers students located in Stratford.
The HealthyNJ site focuses on meeting the health care information needs of consumers, particularly the citizens of New Jersey. HealthyNJ is also a useful resource for NJ based policy makers and health care professionals.
